While Tales from the Loop features a recurring cast of characters and overlapping plots, each episode functions as a standalone short story. If you buy from the links, I get a little commission that helps me get more books to feature. The way the subjects and landscape are basked in light is just beautiful to look at. This is a large format artbook with a matte cover and clothed bound spine. Just as StÃ¥lenhag's human subjects find themselves amiss in front of robots and monoliths, so do these characters. Tales is not a very happy show — characters suffer tremendous loss, often in painful ways — but there is a comforting affirmation that whatever it is we want, whatever we need, or whatever we desire, we are not alone in seeking it. In its own ineffable way, the relationship between people and the Loop is profoundly reassuring. ... Nathaniel Halpern's adaptation of Stålenhag's book Tales From the Loop, a collection of those paintings, settles on something closer to the former. One tale talks about how two giant Gorgosaurus Libratus attacked an ice-cream truck. Besides, sometimes The Loop has its benefits. None of that matters next to how the Loop impacts the lucky, or unlucky, people who live near it. Allowed HTML tags:
